Dear Readers,

In my word of books, deadlines, appearances, burning the midnight oil, tearing my hair out during tough chapters and feeding the souls of all my characters, comes this pause for what life is really all about -- some real life stuff -- my son's high school graduation in four days.

All about is also what I write about -- heart medicine, soul food, catching dreams on the tip of your tongue, sliding for home half naked, waking up with a brilliant thought, letting go, holding on and kicking as high as you can go, as often as you can go.

I love these life milestones. I love the way my son looks at me this week, the way he is excited about college -- and for more than just meeting new women and having a good time. I love the way we are pouring over all the photographs and remembering the tough years and all the months after it that turned into wonderful years. I love the way I can let my heart fall into this and cry at the drop of a toothpick because we have both worked so damn hard to get to this point in our lives.

In the midst of this big moment, news flashes that Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funeral has gone into a fourth printing. Yee-Ha, to say the least.

I'll also be out and about this month in Colorado and Michigan for certain, check the events page, and may whip something up in Chicago as well -- it may even be legal. So stay tuned as there are other events and appearances that will be showing up soon. And if you, or your book club, or your bookstore, or your entire town would like me to show up -- ask. What the heck…..if I can get one kid out of high school and into college -- anything is possible. Anything.

And guess what else I have been doing? I have been working like the madwoman that I am on the fifth novel and I am having so much fun I should get arrested. The title -- Searching for Paradise in Parker, PA. And let me tell you writing this book has turned into an interesting literary paradise for me, because I am having the time of my life. This novel will be released in 2008 and as I travel through the chapters I will, as always, keep you posted on its progress through my literary veins.

The Sunday List of Dreams is set for release in January and to say that I am excited about this novel is just the tip of this juicy iceberg. As we get closer to the end of the year I will have news about next year's tour and other events surrounding the release of my fourth novel.

As you may know, Annie has been optioned by movie producer Joni Levin and she is hard at work with "her people" and we continue to talk about the project on a regular basis. Believe me -- when it all comes together, as I believe it will, you will get all the juicy details here.

It is summer, by the way. Once we get through this graduation and I replenish my tissue supply, both the kids will be off on a small tour of Ireland, Wales, and England as part of a drama exchange program. My son Andrew is doing a piece from The Odd Couple and daughter Rachel is a hip chick in a scene from Chicago ("….he had it coming…"). It is a very cool show and a marvelous experience and I know they will have some life changing experiences on this trip.

So crank out the lawn chairs, get something cold to drink, grab a hot Radish book and send me an email the minute you finish.

Have a terrific June... and celebrate the heck out of every day.

Always,
