Summer Rain

summer rain
after dark
streaks of wet light
voices on the verge
halting with each strike
summer rain
washing away
the pages of change
when wet light disappears
like your eyes
my baby...
flying like the wind
to all those places
we saw
we felt
we dreamed
in summer rain
while you grew tall
and grabbed my knees
laughing hard
blonde hair tangled
like strands of gold
around my heart...
now your own heart
beats wild
yearning for
a glimpse into
the eye of the storm
the soul of
the summer rain
and as my arms
already ache
for your missing embrace
i push you hard
the summer rain...
